Suspect arrested in 2017 capturing loss of life of San Jacinto lady



Felony fees are anticipated to be filed Wednesday in opposition to a 27-year-old man suspected of gunning down a San Jacinto lady in 2017.

Daniel Antonio Cortez Acevedo of San Jacinto allegedly killed 31-year-old Anna Meza throughout an unspecified dispute.

Acevedo was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside Friday on suspicion of homicide. He’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit detectives submitted the case to the District Attorney’s Office for overview Monday.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Jesse Martinez stated that the identification of Meza’s alleged killer required a “prolonged investigation” spanning effectively over six years.

The sufferer was strolling within the 100 block of North Dillon Avenue, close to Main Street, on the afternoon of Nov. 12, 2017, when she was concerned in an encounter with a suspect, whose identification was unknown on the time.

Meza was shot to loss of life on the street, and her attacker fled.
