Guns, gun-making equipment and ammunition seized in Beaumont raid



One man remained in custody Saturday after a gang job power raided a web site in Beaumont and seized 17 firearms together with firearm manufacturing equipment, authorities mentioned.

Officers served a search warrant within the 300 block of twelfth Street at 9 a.m. Thursday as a part of an ongoing firearms investigation, in response to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The division mentioned its Gang Task Force seized 17 firearms, numerous firearm elements in various phases of meeting, firearm manufacturing equipment, a number of firearm suppressors, 4 ballistic plate service vests with metal ballistic plates, ballistic helmets, quite a few large-capacity magazines and tens of hundreds of rounds of various caliber ammunition.

Arrested on the scene had been 54-year-old Ronald Partain Jr. and 46-year-old Michael Ortega, each of Beaumont.

According to the sheriff’s division, Partain and Ortega had been each convicted felons and had been prohibited from possessing firearms.

Both had been booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of varied weapons-related costs.

Partain was launched Friday on $10,000 bail, however Ortega remained arrested with no bail quantity.
