A person convicted of murdering a 55-year-old Beaumont businessman within the Cajon Pass was discovered dead in his cell Monday, April 29, on the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated Tuesday.

John Wayne Thomson, 64, died in his cell on the Medical Facility hospice unit, and his reason for dying will probably be decided by the Solano County Coroner’s Office, the corrections company stated in a information launch.

Thomson was sentenced to dying on April 4, 2014, for fatally stabbing Charles Hedlund after the sufferer provided Thomson a journey in 2006. It was reported in 2013 that Thomson was in a stolen automobile that had damaged down when Hedlund stopped to assist him.
