Cardenas market in Fontana is newest goal of smash-and-grab jewellery thieves

Fontana police are searching for three males who smashed a glass show case at a Cardenas grocery store and made off with an unspecified quantity of bijou.

The theft occurred round 2:12 p.m. at 11647 Cherry Ave. on Thursday, May 16, mentioned Officer Steven Reed, a Police Department spokesman.

The males pulled up in a white Ford Mustang with a black convertible high and bought out sporting hooded sweatshirts, backpacks and medical-style masks, Reed mentioned. They used a hammer to interrupt the glass at a kiosk after which grabbed handfuls of bijou.

They drove away north on Cherry towards Jurupa Avenue, Reed mentioned.

No arrests have been introduced.
