Santa Ana mom charged in beating of 5-week-old son



A Santa Ana lady is going through legal prices after allegedly beating her 5-week-old son for refusing to cease crying and leaving the toddler with 16 damaged bones, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office introduced on Thursday, May 16.

Mirian Jimenez-Olivera, 34 was charged with 11 felony counts of kid abuse and her husband, Edgar Busto-Rodriguez, 35, was charged with one felony depend of being an adjunct, the district legal professional’s workplace mentioned.

Jimenez-Olivera is suspected of punching her new child child within the ribs, shoulder, and arms when he cried on a number of events and and roughly pulling his leg when she modified him, officers mentioned. The accidents to the toddler included a cranium fracture, a fractured knee, a fractured elbow, damaged ribs and a fractured arm.

The abuse is suspected to have occurred for the reason that toddler was 2 weeks outdated.

The extent of the accidents was found by medical doctors on May 13 when the toddler was taken to a hospital after his left arm was not shifting, officers mentioned.

Busto-Rodriguez is suspected of mendacity to police about how his son was injured.

Both mother and father have pleaded not responsible and are being held in custody every on a $1 million bond.

Jimenez-Olivera faces as much as 42 years in jail if discovered responsible of all 11 counts, whereas Busto-Rodriguez might face a most of three years in jail.
