In July, Mark Leonard launched the newly launched paperback version of his guide – “The Age of Unpeace: How Connectivity Causes Conflict” (Penguin) – with a brand-new essay on the struggle in Ukraine and its geopolitical influence. Together with Fiona Hill, senior fellow at Brookings, and Jason Cowley, editor-in-chief of the New Statesman, he discusses a brand new means of trying on the origins of the struggle in Ukraine, the way in which it’s being carried out and the implications for international (geo-)politics. Is the “Age of Unpeace” simply one other time period for a chilly struggle? And will international challenges – like local weather change – in the long run nonetheless bind us collectively? Or does the “Unpeace” period make us even much less in a position to deal with these?
