A Bronx smoke store employee was taken into police custody after he allegedly shot and killed a person who he claimed was making an attempt to rob the shop.

The worker of the comfort retailer and unlicensed hashish dispensary on East Tremont Avenue allegedly shot 23-year-old Romel Carey within the head at round 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, in line with police and sources.

Carey, of Pennsylvania, had repeatedly tried to rob the Top Shelf bodega earlier than he was fatally shot, the employee claimed.

Carey returned simply 40 minutes later and allegedly tried to rob the institution a second time, sources informed The Post.
