Man hurled racial slurs at Greenock shopkeeper in early morning rant




A shopkeeper has advised of his ‘unhappiness’ after a racial abuse lout hurled a disgusting slur at him and shouted: “Go again to your personal nation.”

Muhammed Fazil was verbally abused by yob Patrick Condon on the ‘News 4 U’ retailer on Kilblain Street shortly after opening up for early morning commerce.

Condon, 54 — who’s barred from the premises — referred to Muhammed as ‘black’ and accompanied the comment with a vile swear phrase.

Muhammed advised the Tele: “I give him a coffee each day he is right here however he is not allowed within the store.

“He was exterior kicking my [advertising] board and I stated to him, ‘Paddy, why are you hitting my board’ and he replied, ‘Cos I’m completely satisfied’.

“I advised him if he did not cease I’d name the police and that is when he began with the racial stuff and shouting and swearing.

“The shopkeeper subsequent door was telling him that it wasn’t good.

“My spouse was on the cellphone to me and heard him and he or she stated to not let him go.”

Muhammed added: “It was actually dangerous and I simply suppose it is actually unhappy.

Condon, of Murdieston Street, appeared from custody on the sheriff court docket to confess a cost of behaving in a threatening and abusive method by shouting, swearing and making an offensive comment.

Prosecutor Maria Murdoch stated: “The accused started hitting the store window together with his strolling stick.

“Police attended and arrested the accused.

“He was cautioned and charged and replied, ‘I simply advised him to go house, I wasn’t threatening’.”

Defence lawyer Aidan Gallagher stated: “At his age he ought to know higher.
