Man arrested after waving gun out of automobile window close to US Open in NYC: sources


A Long Island man was rapidly arrested after he drove previous the US Open whereas waving a gun out of a automobile’s passenger aspect, sources stated. 

Ricardo Betancur, 23, of Uniondale, was driving down Roosevelt Avenue in a 2018 black Lexus round 3 p.m. Saturday when police directing visitors for the famed tennis event seen his hand, allegedly holding the firearm, both hanging out of the automobile’s open door or the window, sources stated. 

Officers approached the car solely to have the driving force pace off, throwing Betancur out of the automobile, the sources stated. Police have been capable of get better the unloaded gun and arrested Betancur, who allegedly had medicine and ammunition on him. 

Betancur is going through legal possession of a weapon and drug expenses. The driver continues to be being sought.

No pictures have been fired and nobody was harm, in keeping with police and sources.

Police confirmed somebody was taken into custody “within the neighborhood” of the Open, however wouldn’t give particulars.

The tennis championship matches proceed till Sept. 11.
