The 14-year-old boy targeted in a broad daylight shooting in East Harlem has died, authorities stated Wednesday.
Justin Streeter was shot within the head and one other boy, 15, was hit within the left leg by a gunman who opened hearth at them after they left a deli close to the nook of East 128th Street and Park Avenue round 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, in line with cops.
As they have been touring towards Park Avenue, the gunman emerged and started firing on the boys, NYPD Chief of Patrol Jeffrey Maddrey stated in an emotional press convention hours after the incident.
Streeter, who was on a push scooter, was struck as he fled into the road.
The teen, from Plainfield, New Jersey, collapsed between two vehicles and was rushed to Harlem Hospital, the place he succumbed to his accidents, cops stated.
The older teen was in a position to make it throughout the road and run towards Lexington Avenue the place he ultimately was helped by a passerby who referred to as 911, Maddrey stated. He was taken to the hospital with accidents that weren’t thought of life-threatening, police stated.
The suspect fled west on 128th Street towards Madison Avenue, in line with Maddrey.


Police have been investigating the motive and what number of photographs have been fired.
“This is horrible and we shouldn’t should undergo by way of this gun violence,” Maddrey instructed reporters. “We shouldn’t be scared to stroll out in our streets within the broad daylight in the midst of the afternoon and really feel like we’re going to be victims of gun violence.”
