Girl, 15, shot and killed by boy, 9, taking part in with loaded gun

A 15-year-old lady was by chance shot and killed by a 9-year-old boy who was taking part in with a loaded gun, Baltimore police stated Sunday.

The lady was taking part in on her entrance porch Saturday evening in West Baltimore’s Edmondson Village when she was shot within the head, police stated. She was pronounced lifeless at a neighborhood hospital.

The Baltimore Sun experiences that police stated the boy won’t be criminally charged due to his age. The boy dropped the gun and fled the scene after the taking pictures. Police stated the gun is registered to a lady who’s a relative of the boy and works as an armed safety guard.

On Sunday, the lady’s mom, Nykerah Strawder, recognized her as 15-year-old Nykayla Strawder. Police beforehand stated the lady was 14.

“I would like kids to be extra secure. To put the weapons away, do away with these weapons,” Strawder stated between tears. “I misplaced my daughter; I’ll by no means be the identical.”

Officers responded to a report of a taking pictures at about 8 p.m. Saturday and located the lady unresponsive.
