FESTIVALS: New Films from FNE Partner Countries in 2024 Berlinale Selection



BERLIN: New majority and minority coproductions directed by Levan Akin, Andrei Cohn, Roman Bondarchuk and Zuza Banasińska have been introduced within the Panorama, Forum and Forum Expanded sections of the 74th version of the Berlin International Film Festival (15 – 25 February 2024).

The Georgian minority coproduction Crossing directed by Levan Akin, which could have its world premiere within the Panorama part, follows a retired teacher dwelling in Batumi, Georgia, who units out to meet her deceased sister’s final want: to search out her long-lost daughter. The journey takes her to Istanbul, the place she meets up with a trans rights lawyer who may assist her discover her niece.
