Elon Musk’s X has reinstated the accounts of far-Right influencers Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson, reversing lifetime bans on the pair imposed by the social community’s earlier possession.
Ms Hopkins and Mr Robinson, whose actual title is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, had been reinstated after Mr Musk responded to a tweet which pointed that out they remained banned from the platform.
Mr Musk on Sunday stated: “Why are their account handles on this platform? Free speech is allowed, offered legal guidelines are usually not damaged.”
The choice comes days after Twitter chief Linda Yaccarino held conferences with promoting executives in London in an effort to lure them again to the platform. After her ban was lifted, Ms Hopkins tweeted: “Thank you @elonmusk. And thanks to all of the Twitter household who’ve introduced Tommy & I again to @X. Know this. You are usually not alone. We are many. And we’re stronger collectively. The combat again in your freedom is on.”
Mr Robinson tweeted: “I’m grateful to @elonmusk for giving me my voice again at such an necessary time. I’ve been censored, attacked, slandered & imprisoned for shining a light-weight on uncomfortable truths that our authorities want to cover, the general public at the moment are conscious I used to be telling the reality. We have heaps to do.”
Mr Robinson was jailed in 2019 after being present in contempt of courtroom for livestreaming footage of defendants in a prison trial regardless of a reporting ban.
