It’s no coincidence that this occurred to a consultant of the secular CHP, Hürriyet places in:
“In an election marketing campaign it must be unthinkable for Kılıçdaroğlu, who prided himself on being declared a mujahideen by the Islamist Saadet Party in an effort to safe the help of non secular voters, to step on a prayer rug. But this doesn’t change the truth that he’s insensitive, detached and careless about spiritual points. The incident was uncovered by posts by CHP parliamentary candidates on their social media accounts. They all stepped on the prayer rug with their sneakers and took images of it and shared it. … That’s simply the mentality of the CHP.”
