A 55-year-old man is needed for allegedly fatally taking pictures his NYPD civilian worker girlfriend, and gravely wounding a neighbor who went to verify on her Monday in Queens.
Hours after the Monday morning slaying of 51-year-old Migdalia Ortega in her Ridgewood condo, the NYPD recognized the suspect as Pedro Cintron.
Ortega was combating together with her boyfriend contained in the condo on Fresh Pond Road close to Palmetto Street when a feminine neighbor confirmed as much as see what was happening, authorities stated.
“During the dispute, the 48-year-old neighbor went to check on the third-floor occupant,” Deputy Chief Julie Morrill informed reporters Monday afternoon. “She was in shock and fled back to her apartment. The male suspect followed her and continued shooting.”
“There are shell casings throughout the hallway and stairwell.”
Ortega was shot within the head and the neighbor blasted within the abdomen and shoulder, cops stated.
Both girls have been rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center, the place Ortega was pronounced useless and the neighbor stays clinging to life.
Ortega labored for the NYPD’s Information Technology Bureau at One Police Plaza in Manhattan, cops stated. Her daughter labored together with her on the NYPD, stated a colleague of the pair.
The gunman was sporting all black on the time of the assault and fled in a car with tinted home windows and no license plate, police sources stated.
“[Ortega’s] family has received support from the NYPD Employee Assistance Unit,” Morrill stated. “We are doing everything we can to comfort them in this difficult time.”
No arrests had been made by Tuesday morning.
