WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden and first woman Jill Biden will be part of army personnel and their households on Sunday for an early Thanksgiving meal dubbed “Friendsgiving.”

The occasion will happen at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia.

Biden’s participation within the gathering for associates often called “Friendsgiving” kicks off the vacation week. He will conduct the normal pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey on Monday, after which go away on Tuesday for the Atlantic island of Nantucket to spend the Thursday vacation there together with his household.

He celebrates his 81st birthday on Monday.

While in Norfolk, the Bidens will kick off an advance screening with service members and their households of “Wonka,” a brand new musical fantasy movie specializing in a younger Willy Wonka.

Then, they may take part in a Friendsgiving dinner with service members and army households related to the Dwight D. Eisenhower and the Gerald R. Ford plane carriers. Both vessels are deployed within the japanese Mediterranean in response to tensions from the Israel-Hamas battle.
