Bassem al-Saadi (بسام السعدي) is a senior member of Islamic Jihad‘s al-Quds Brigades primarily based within the northern West Bank city of Jenin. He was detained by Israel in August 2022.
Al-Saadi was born in 1960 in Jenin refugee camp and has spent some 15 years in Israeli jails. He was reportedly amongst a gaggle of Palestinian Islamist activists exiled by Israel to ‘Marj al-Zahour’ in southern Lebanon in 1992.
