Arrests after boxer Amir Khan robbed at gunpoint




Three males have been arrested after former boxing world champion Amir Khan was robbed at gunpoint in east London.

The 35-year-old Bolton born boxer was along with his spouse Faryal in Leyton in April when he was approached by two males who threatened him with a gun earlier than stealing his £70,000 watch.

Scotland Yard mentioned three males, aged 25, 34 and 20, had been arrested on suspicion of theft after warrants had been executed by detectives on Wednesday morning.

The 25-year-old has additionally been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to trigger concern of violence, whereas the 20-year-old has been arrested for this offence and possession of ammunition.

All three stay in custody.

Officers had been referred to as to the incident on High Road at 9.15pm on April 18.

No pictures had been fired and no one was injured.

Detective Sergeant Lee Warrington of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command mentioned: “Tackling theft is a key precedence for the Met and these arrests reveal our dedication to taking these intent on utilizing violence, or the specter of violence, off of our streets.”
